The ZABKAT-developed application Xplorer2 is meant for all the Windows users out there who want to replace the default Windows Explorer file manager with something that is just as easy to use, but has a bit more functionality to offer. Xplorer2 is meant for the users who want to be more productive and to manage their files more efficiently. So if you fall into this category, you’re very well advised to give Xplorer2 a try.

The first step is to download a 1.6MB installation file on your computer. The following step is to run that file and follow the instructions presented by the setup wizard. You will get to choose the installation directory, choose if you want a desktop shortcut, pick one of the many supported languages, and select if you want Xplorer2 to replace Windows Explorer. Once the installation process completes, your browser will launch and you will be directed to a Welcome Page.

As is the case with many other file managers, Xplorer2’s interface is dual pane. By default, the panes are arranged one on top of another; you can change the way they are arranged and set them to be next to one another by going to the View menu and selecting the Tile Horizontally Option. If you’re not a fan of the dual pane look, uncheck the Dual Pane option from the same View menu.

To ensure you don’t have any problems understanding how Xplorer2 works, there’s a Getting Started guide on the right hand side. Click the links to find out more about how to use Xplorer2 and about the functionality it has to offer, close it if you think you know all there is to know about the application.

The functionality Xplorer2 has to offer is typical of what you would expect from a file manager: find, preview, copy, delete, rename, sync, run command, and so on. You have 21 days at your disposal to use Xplorer2, uncover all the functionality it has to offer, and decide if you’re willing to pay for a license to keep using the file manager after the evaluation period is over.

Xplorer2 is just a very good alternative to the default Windows Explorer file manager.

Pros

Provides support for multiple languages. Dual pane interface with numerous customization options. Features to help you efficiently and easily manage your files. Received numerous great reviews from the media.

Cons

Free to use for an evaluation period of 21 days.
